Yellow Farmhouse Vineyard and Winery 2006 Vignoles
Vignoles -- Sweet, White
This French hybrid has adapted well to the Missouri River Valley terroirs, but many still think it hints of clear crisp German Rhine and Mosel Valley whites. The 2006 crop had a high sugar content from an unusually hot summer and high acidity making them a “natural’ for Midwest winemaking. There is a semi - sweet simplicity to Vignoles that appeals to many. It’s a great summer wine and complements light dishes like salads, chicken and fish. You’ll taste pear and apricot complimented by a light Oak overtone. After the sun has blessed the vines, and the sugar and ripeness are at their peak we harvest and crush the grapes the same day to assure a semi-sweet that is hard to beat.
