Profile
The Foundation for Restoration of Ste. Genevieve invites you to visit the historic Guibourd-Valle House (c. 1806) Built in 1806 by Jacques Guibourd, this poteaux sur-sol (post on sill) home features not only vertical log construction, but also the use of the classic Norman truss. The house was used (from 1806) as a prominent residence until 1971 with the passing of Anna Valle. It was her wish to make the home a memorial to her husband, Jules Felix Valle. The Foundation for the Restoration of Ste. Genevieve maintains the house with all of Mrs. Valle’s antiques on display for the public. Daily April thru October (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) Daily November thru December (12:00-4:00 p.m.) January thru March (Special events & tours only) After your tour, taste local wines compliments of Ste. Genevieve Winery (Friday, Saturday & Sundays thru September)
